Ferticheck-LH Frequently Asked Questions

Ferticheck-LH One step Ovulation Test specifically detects Human Luteinising hormone (hLH) in urine. The abrupt surge/ increase in hLH levels in urine is associated with ovulation time and the best probable time to plan conception. Approximately 12 to 36 hours after the hLH surge (above 40 mIU/ml) the eggs (ova) are released (ovulation has started). Ferticheck-LH One step Ovulation Test is designed to detect hLH levels equal to or above 40mIU/ml in urine. If the LH test comes positive, then it can help in planning pregnancy.

The best time to start testing for ovulation is a few days before ovulation. Ovulation occurs midway through the menstrual cycle. The test has to be started depending on the menstrual cycle length (1st day of current period to the 1st day of next period). In a regular, 28-day cycle, ovulation will usually be on day 14 or 15, so start on day 10 or 11. Check the ovulation cycle table to find out the days to do the test. This test can be done for 5 consecutive days till the surge is detected. The best time to do the ovulation test is between 10 am and 8 pm.

The fiber strip inside the test device is coated with an hLH antibody that reacts with hLH in the urine to produce two colored bands one at C and another at the T region indicating the positive test results. If there is only one band at C region only, then the test is negative.

Easy to perform and read the test results. Can be conveniently done at home at any time. You can consult a pharmacist to advise on how to perform the test and read result negative.
